Quality Manager - Warrington - Negotiable - 12 Months
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The post holder will be expected to represent the company on Quality Assurance matters, to internal and external customers (including supply chain) ideally having prior marine and wider sector experience.
Responsible for providing Quality Assurance expertise supporting continual improvement initiatives through effective use of problem solving tools.
Whilst acting as the custodian of the company ISO 9001 - Quality Management and ISO14001 Environmental Management System certifications the post holder will develop and deliver quality assurance and audit programmes.
Nuclear experience preferable but not essential.

SCOPE OF JOB
Responsible for the provision and ongoing management of Quality Assurance and audit services for the company and representing the company on Quality Assurance to its customers.
DIMENSION AND LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
Will operate as part of the EHS&Q team.
No delegated powers.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Good first degree or equivalent experience
Membership of recognised professional Quality body eg the Chartered Quality Institute, or willing to work towards achieving within agreed timescale
Understanding of relevant legislation, standards and requirements, specifically being able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of ISO 9001 and sound understanding of ISO14001 and ISO45001
Ability to demonstrate and maintain continued professional development (CPD)
Lead auditor qualification preferably in ISO 9001 - Quality Management, willing to consider ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems and/or ISO45001 - Occupational Health and Safety.
Knowledge and experience of quality in design and manufacturing both in-house and via the supply chain
Experience of project and contract management
Know how to and be able to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers
Good knowledge of sector/marine operations and associated enforcement bodies
Wider sector knowledge of good practice in quality assurance and audit to drive learning and continuous improvement
Experience of budget management
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent ICT skills and knowledge

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as subject matter expert on ISO 9001, keeping abreast of change, best practise and informing the company of need for change
Maintain a working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
Develop and deliver audit and assurance programmes - including internal, and supply chain audit equirements
Effectively engage internally and externally on risks related to quality to extract value and gain agreement and support for quality assurance activities
Measure, monitor and report progress of audit, process verification and document review actions
Ensure that process verification and document review is carried out in line with business risk and needs
Facilitate external assurance and audit activities ie customer, certification and regulator
Champion or lead multi-disciplined quality improvement initiatives that support continual improvement
Manage associated budget for Quality related activities
Prepare reports to support organisational awareness on Quality matters
Development and maintenance of the Assurance database.
Identify and ensure the effective delivery of Quality related information, instruction and training needs for all levels of employees.
Identify areas for improvement and contribute to the EHSQ strategy, through identification of Quality associated targets and objectives
