Vivid Resourcing are currently looking for a Process Quality Engineer with auditing experience to join an automotive client we are working with based in the  East Midlands.

This is a six month contract position with an immediate start.

You must be able to work under your own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplined team. This Role will lead the entire Advanced Product Quality Planning process (APQP),Technical QA Support, Non-Conforming Parts Management, Internal Rework Reduction Support, Supplier PPAP Management, CI and general QA duties.

This is a key role within our business and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in the Low to medium volume manufacturing sector and have an in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance including Advanced Quality Planning, PFMEA, SPC, PPAP, 5-Why and 8D.

Key Tasks

  • Support New Products Introduction and Advanced Product Quality.
  • Support in product/process quality improvements, focusing on 'right first time'.
  • Generate, maintain and update PPAP Documentation eg PFMEA, Control plans, Process Flow and Dimensional Reports.
  • Carry out Inspections and create Dimensional reporting.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Thorough understanding of APQP & PPAP
  • You will have an understanding of the processes involved in our manufacturing facility including machining, fabrication, welding, Laser cutting, CNC forming and painting.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good IT literacy, familiarity Microsoft programs including Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of PPAP ( VIPI ) software would be an advantage.
  • Able to work as part of a team to tight deadlines and targets.
  • Experienced with FARO Arm/CMM, Conventional measuring Equipment & Gauging.
