For our energy client in Duesseldorf we are currently looking for a solution designer / analyst energy trading

Background:
The project is aimed to define a solution that enables
a) a comprehensive and harmonized pricing of Wind and Solar PPAs as well as Tollings, and
b) management of the deals on a daily basis in a portfolio context.

Detailed requirements for the inputs, the modelling as well as the output are to be gathered, a solution design in line with clients landscape needs to be agreed upon with all involved stakeholders and work packages that allow for independent implementation and successes along the project lifetime need to be tied.. Overall project is already running.

Tasks:
- Interview Stakeholders from Power FO desks (hedging strategy, structured products, PMAs from different desks), Quants, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Market Analysis to gather the requirements for the future solution
- Create a comprehensive requirements document that is signed off by the PSC by mid of October
- In alignment with IT, Architecture and Reporting, design an integrated solution proposal by end of November
- Create a solution design that is signed off by the PSC by end of November
- Structure the tasks necessary to deliver the envisaged solution in individual work packages so that they allow for step-wise successes during implementation
- Create an action plan for prerequisites for each of the work packages
- Prepare and conduct bi-weekly steering committee meetings
- Preparation of internal and external communication, e. g. Ping articles, press releases
- Project status reporting on ad-hoc basis if required

Skills:
- Strong stakeholder management on both management and expert level
- Experienced in business requirements analysis with focus on customer value, i.e. finding the optimal solution balancing complexity/ effort and business value
- Experience creating solution design
- Good understanding of decision drivers for designing an IT landscape (performance, stability, scalability, etc.) and systems involved in energy trading (ETRM Endur, DWH, cloud solutions, etc.)
- Experience in energy trading (ideally power assets) and understanding of processes along the deal lifecycle (deal pricing, deal capturing, deal modelling, risk analysis, deal settlement, reporting)
- Experience in steering suppliers
- Understanding of mathematical finance especially Monte Carlo method and Black Scholes Model in order to understand and discuss future solutions with experts
- Budget controlling
- Knowledge in portfolio management concept and essentials like volatilities and correlations
- Proven experience keeping project within time, scope and budget
