Description

The Task:

Templeton & Partners is currently working with a large commercial client in Amsterdam to looking for a project manager.

Initial contract towards end of this year with possible extension.

The project manager will deliver a number of projects within the Simulation-based Learning program. Key elements will be to deliver fit for purpose solutions which realize value on a short term (through MVPs) using the new Oculus Quest 2 devices.

The role will require strong communication skills, stakeholder management, technical affinity with virtual reality, vendor management and change management.

Job Description:

The Simulation-based Learning is a VR delivery program within the company Learning organization. The program supports the long-term strategy of the Digital Transformation for Learning with various VR and AR solutions in order to expose adaptive and personalized microlearning. From a user experience this comes on a need to know basis and will allow the Learning organization to establish a higher level of knowledge retention. This aligns with the strategy of everboarding and will help with retention because learners will access lessons, assessments and activities within the context of their role in a more immersive environment which goes beyond traditional learning.

The project manager will fulfill the role to ensure project goals and delivery are on track and report accordingly towards the program manager. The project manager will take accountability for a number of opportunities which have been selected for the 2021 roadmap.

Project Management plans, controls and executes a project or set of related projects to meet identified business needs and deliver business value, through acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality.  This position will lead small-to-medium projects of moderate complexity and risk and has the following accountabilities:

•             Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close all aspects of the project lifecycle.

•             Mobilize and lead a team with the necessary skills, composed of a mixture of staff and suppliers across organisational boundaries.

•             Rigorously manage scope through a structured change management process to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters with focus on delivering the business benefits.

•             Create and validate financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and expenditures.

•             Ensure appropriate stakeholder change and communication plans and engagements are developed and executed.

•             Proactively analyze variances against plan to assess trends threatening agreed scope, time, cost, and quality commitments.  Identify signs that a project may be at risk and escalate quickly and appropriately. 

•             Apply project management and IT control/assurance methodologies, standards and processes including architecture, information risk management, and transition to support.

Skills & Requirements:

•             A 4-year degree in IT or a related field.

•             Agile project experience.

•             Professional certifications related to project or programme management are desirable.

•             Familiar with and able to adhere to project management methodologies and tools.

•             Strong communication and presentation skills.

•             Proven experience with managing Agile projects (Scrum certified)

•             Experience with Virtual Reality devices like Quest 2 and HTC

•             Experience with content development for VR

•             Experience in change management and value funnel creation

•             Experience with Design Thinking methods

•             Ability to manage change within high tech projects
