Description

As a Test Analyst you will focus on ensuring project and change outputs are fit for purpose and achieve quality expectations before being released into live. Assist with defect co-ordination across wide group of functional teams.

Role objectives

You will be responsible for the planning, design, management, execution and reporting of tests, using appropriate testing tools and techniques and aligning with agreed process standards and industry specific regulations

Key activities include:

  • Aligning with agreeing methods, tools and techniques to evaluate the quality of project outputs.
  • Engaging with project managers and other stakeholders to optimise QA & test outcomes.
  • Being responsible for creation of test cases, using own in-depth technical analysis.
  • Nice to have - Able to analyse and interpret non-functional specifications.
  • Assuring the quality of testing where it is carried out by other parties.
  • Creating traceability records from test cases back to requirements using Jira and X-ray (or similar test management add-in)
  • Producing test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services.
  • Producing test scripts using the cucumber syntax
  • Interpreting requirements for environment, data, resources and tools.
  • Interpreting, executing and documenting complex test scripts using agreed methods and standards.
  • Recording and analysing actions and results, and maintaining a defect register.
  • Reviewing test results and modifying tests as necessary.
  • Providing reports on progress, anomalies, risks and issues associated with the overall project/change.
  • Reporting on system quality, collecting and presenting metrics on test cases.
  • Act as a mentor to support others.
  • Seeking opportunities to deliver effective repeatability and future accelerators.
  • Contributing to the development of the overall maturity of the QA & Test team.
  • Provide project and defect management support for business testing activities
  • Maintain integrity of the defects in central defect management tool, Jira.
  • Where applicable, to chase defect owner for defect update
  • Support with defect triage calls and record actions
  • Ensure defect quality and content

Skills, experience and characteristics:

  • Defect co-ordination experience associated with large scale complex programs (Nice to have)
  • Ability to work to a defined defect management process
  • Ability to chair defect triage meetings
  • Experience of at least one SAP S/4 HANA Finance implementation. Nice to have a law firm environment.
  • Have 3+ years test experience preferably System Integration Test across global teams.
  • Has experience in Finance Interface Testing supporting a diverse and multiple Interfaces
  • Has e xperience with third party applications such as Finance API
  • Demonstrates a high level of personal responsibility and autonomy, p LAN ning own work to meet given objectives within a defined framework.
  • Conveys confidence and professionalism when engaging with stakeholders, positively influencing others to take a specific course of action in line with delivering quality outcomes.

  • Has a strong relationship and stakeholder management approach, championing effective collaboration.
  • Communicates fluently, orally and in writing, and can present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Has an excellent eye for detail and takes a structured approach, including creation of quality supporting document ation and artefacts.
  • Able to investigate, define and resolve complex issues within a complex environment.
  • Is solution focussed and takes a positive and proactive approach.
  • Knowledge of testing techniques used to plan and execute tests of all application components (functional and non-functional).
  • Has knowledge in software tools which automate or assist any part of the testing process across all or part of the testing life cycle.
  • Has exposure to working with multiple global teams across different time zones and flexibility to accommodate this.
  • Demonstrates ability to work with acute focus whilst also consider ing a holistic view, identifying opportunities to deliver benefits on a broader scale.
  • Has worked within waterfall and agile project delivery frameworks.
  • Desirable qual ifications:
    • ITSQB -BCS Certified Tester Foundation Level
    • ISTQB -BCS Foundation Agile Tester Extension
    • BCS Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing
