Description

Stanton House is currently in the market for a charismatic and ambitious Management Accountant to support one of our high growth clients during a period of exciting change.

Responsibilities:

  • Completion of the month end close process to tight deadlines including booking journal entries to manage P&L and balance sheet accounts with accompanying reconciliations
  • Areas of responsibility will include basis point revenue calculation on assets under management, commissions and corporate cost centre accruals.
  • Business partnering with our business unit managers through the creation of insightful commentary and analysis on key performance variances when presenting results.
  • Assuming a legal entity controllership role which requires ownership of entity results and controls, becoming a focal point for global processes.
  • Taking a lead on the budgeting/forecasting of expenses as well as cost centre reviews with budget holders in the UK entity.
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns and assisting with the UK VAT group assessment project
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors to provide analysis and resolve queries in a timely manner to ensure compliance with financial controls.
  • Working with the shared service centre to offshore tasks and create process efficiencies. Ensure contract approval and invoicing is conducted in a timely manner and correctly reflected in the financials.
  • Ad-hoc reporting and preparation of reports for senior staff.

To be suitable you must have the following:

  • Knowledge of UK-GAAP/IFRS is essential and US-GAAP is desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge with regards to revenue recognition accounting policies.
  • Excellent communicator with ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Financial Systems and Hyperion Financial Management is preferred
  • Enthusiastic and approachable and able to engage operational managers on financial matters
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel essential and Microsoft PowerPoint is desirable.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent, as well as part qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent international accounting qualification.
