Demand and Resource Management Lead

Role Summary

We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in Preston as a Demand and Resource Management Lead.

The role will be an initial 12 month contract and will provide you with focusing on the overall responsibility for effectively managing and deploying variable demand that is required by projects to deliver projects to our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and continuously improve core PMO capabilities and processes relating to the centralised model for demand and resource management
  • Work with EITS project community, including wider Functional Lead owners, to support and embed processes that drive proactive demand management
  • Review and prepare resource level data, capacity and utilization alongside demand requests and prepare a pack for the weekly demand and initiation review and the resource approval board (Assignment Board)
  • Acquire knowledge of individual skills, development needs, experiences and personal/professional aspirations and apply this knowledge in resourcing decisions.
  • Highlight risks, opportunities, and concerns of resources to appropriate management, by means of formal and informal reporting methods and offering appropriate mitigation actions.
  • Facilitate Contingent workers management process (sourcing, recruitment, and extensions), feeding back any issues to help drive an effective service
  • Produce management reports against objectives and KPI data and analysis of trends to inform decision making.
  • Review historical trends and future needs, as well as training needs to feed into recommendations for future recruitment and capability development
  • Support the on-boarding process for the EITS project community (P and T) to ensure new starters have the tools and knowledge to swiftly become effective in role
  • Review utilisation within P and T to ensure meeting relevant KPI targets.
  • Manage workspace Intranet page and BMS How 2 training and process guides for demand and resource management.
  • Promote best practice across the community eg through running team briefings and knowledge shares, contributing to all-hands calls
  • Support the PMO in analysis and reporting, as required

Key skills & qualifications

  • Competent in Project reporting and Resource Management or a related area such as Workforce Planning
  • Working knowledge of PM&C governance and assurance processes and project management practices
  • An appreciation of business ethics, combined with a high degree of professional integrity
  • Practiced knowledge of project management processes for control and monitoring.
  • Highly motivated and self-disciplined, with the ability to work alone, under the minimum of supervision.
  • Establish strong working relationships that engender honesty, openness, and trust.
  • Operate a high level of organisation and understand prioritisation in tasks assigned.
  • Able to review and develop apocopate and pragmatic processes to support business needs
  • Able to make sound judgements based on previous experience
  • Able to proactively raise risks and issues with appropriate mitigation/solutions being offered
  • Able to challenge others appropriately and professionally as and when required and to influence effectively
  • Possesses a high standard of oral and written communication
  • Educated to HNC or equivalent, preferably in a related discipline
  • Proficient user of computer-based Project Management tools including MS Project, MS Office, etc.

Rate: £355.38 per day (INSIDE IR35)
