Head of Service Desk

Advantage Resourcing is seeking candidates for a Head of IT Service Desk with a large University for a 6 month contract initially.

This will be located in London and will be managing a large team of up to 35 people on a service desk environment. Ideally candidates will have worked within similar education or public sector environments and be trained with ITIL. Rates of pay are PAYE hourly and will be between £30.69 - £39.46.
Candidates will be required to be in the office 1-2 days per week and remote the other days

The main skills of the role will be:
Experience of managing a large and complex IT team or organisation of 15 to 35 staff in a Service Desk or Service Support environment.

Has a detailed knowledge of the Services and IT infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, local area networks etc).

ITIL v3 foundation certificate or equivalent. Knowledge of ITIL processes and how they impact on the role of the service desk specifically Incident Management, Problem Management and Change.

Demonstrates a knowledge of current Best Practices and technology for IT Services Desks.

Experience of IT Service Design and new service implementation including Service Strategy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience working in a very busy environment.

Desirable ITIL Intermediate Level Lifecycle modules, particularly Service Operations, Service Strategy and Continual Service Improvement (or a willingness to work towards).

Demonstrates an understanding of Prince II project management methodology
