- Senior Data Engineer - GCP
- 3 - 6 Month Contract
- Remote with office visits for meetings (Bath, Somerset)
- Outside IR35
- £450 - £500 per day
- Containerisation experience - Docker, Kubernetes
- Strong Python
3 - 6 Month contract opportunity with our client based in Bath, Somerset. Contract is remote but the consultant would need to be able to make visits to the companies office for meetings.
Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
4+ years of experience building and operating big data platforms.
Proficiency in Python or another general purpose language.
2+ years of experience in cloud based technologies using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Strong written and verbal communication skills including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical audiences.
Experience Desired:
Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers for best practices.
Experience in working and delivering end-to-end projects independently.
Experience of using Python on Google Cloud Platform for Big Data projects.
Hands on experience developing, maintaining or interacting with an events streaming platform (PubSub,Kinesis,Kafka).
Proven in developing integrations to 3rd party APIs for data ingestion, and developing APIs to expose access to data.
Demonstrated strength in Datamodelling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles.
Familiarity with statistical models and/or data mining algorithms and practical experience of applying these to business problems.
