Senior User Researcher

Contract Length: 6 months

Status: Inside IR35

Daily Rate: £650.00

Location: One day in the office from your closest hub: London, Manchester or Bristol.

User Researchers are key figures in the teams that design and deliver services. They help their organisations develop a deep understanding of the people - citizens, businesses or government colleagues - who use a service. Their findings allow their teams to design and build better services more quickly and at lower cost and risk. And to continuously improve services, based on data and evidence.

We are recruiting for one senior user researcher, who are experienced in a wide range of qualitative and qualitative research methodologies, from desk research, top tasks,

JOB SPECIFICATION

1. Plan, design and prepare a range of user research activities to support the design, development and continuous improvement of the product strategy.

2. Carry out a wide range of user research activities from recruiting participants, preparing discussion guides and moderating research sessions

3. Carry out 'user research as a team' sport to include team and other colleagues and senior stakeholders throughout the research process, from research scoping, to planning, to conducting and eliveyring research findings and prioritization.

4. Communicate user research findings to help the team and wider organisation develop a deep understanding of users and their needs and the value delivered by the insights

5. Use effective reporting techniques (eg. mindset, jobs to be done, service blueprint/mapping, user needs) and storytelling assets to share insights from user research and how that drive and shape strategic decisions making

6. Align user research activities with wider plans to inform service proposition

Key Roles Required Key Skills Required

1. experience of advocating for user research and engaging sceptical colleagues and stakeholders

2. experience of helping teams and organisation to adopt user centred service design and delivery practices and embed them into their agile workflow

3. the ability to understand the complex problems a team and the business is trying to solve, and align user research activities to inform decision making and action

4. experience of helping teams and organisations adopt a wide range of user research methods, analysis and synthesis techniques and approaches to presenting and sharing findings

5. proven experience of introducing new user research methods into a team, and guiding colleagues in the choice and effective application of research methods

6. the ability to include all kinds of users in appropriate research activities to help teams understand the diversity of users of government services

7. a good understanding of the social and technological context for government services, and experience of aligning user research activities to help teams understand changing user behaviour
