Description

We are looking for a Software Asset Manager to join a prestigious global bank! You'll be responsible for the management and oversight of the Software Asset estate. This entails ensuring compliance with licencing terms and entitlement through interaction with stakeholders within IT, the wider business and relevant 3rd parties.

You will need to have a comprehensive understanding of respective licensing models, audit and compliance methodologies and negotiation strategies with the ability to articulate risks and benefits to non-technical stakeholders with financial or banking background.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing the Software Usage policy and procedures to ensure they are up to date, fit for purpose and available across the group to the wider IT community.
  • Managing software entitlement ensuring all inventories and changes are managed robustly and in compliance with licencing terms and policies at all times.
  • Implementing and promoting rigorous governance throughout software life cycle.
  • Identifying opportunities to drive value and improve the performance of the existing and potential software base, seeking ways to drive innovation in processes, reduce costs through decommissioning unused software, reduce risks, improve performance and stimulate competition between qualified suppliers.
  • Embedding a formal software asset management framework for all relevant software across the estate.

What we're looking for:

  • Someone with the ability to lead the software entitlement processes including reporting.
  • Can continuously develop and embed the Software Asset Management capabilities, processes and reporting across the organisation.
  • Has a great understanding of licensing and deployment models.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of techniques to optimise licensing and deployment in order to deliver savings.
  • Has an understanding of the software specific to Global banking including the role of suppliers, their importance and their impact on Global banks.
  • Understanding of supplier governance and its implications for Software Asset Management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of vendor audit and compliance strategies and processes in order to efficiently manage enquiries and engagements Business and IT Strategy.
  • An understanding of end to end life cycle from inception to implementation including the organisation of change initiatives (Sponsors, Steering Committees etc) and the construction of business cases.
  • An understanding of licensing models and terms.
  • An understanding of commercial terms and Unfair Contract Terms.
