SC Cleared Finance Change Lead RITM

Duration of Contract: 6 months

Location: Hybrid

Role Description:

As a key corporate function, Finance is integral to the successful operation of the organisation. We protect by discharging our statutory and control framework financial obligations. We enable the business to operate by securing and managing our resources, paying our staff and our suppliers, and developing and supporting our core corporate systems. We advise by sharing our specialist and expert knowledge and insights with our stakeholders.
We are customer focused and thrive on developing and maintaining effective relationships within our Finance community, and with our wider external stakeholders to protect our financial integrity, enable informed decision making and advise the business, all underpinned by robust, evidence-based analysis.

We are currently embarking on an ambitious change programme aimed at streamlining processes automating where appropriate; re-aligning responsibilities; driving greater value through our services; to ultimately improve the organisation's financial management.

This is an exciting and high-profile opportunity to aid us through this period of change, building sustainability across the teams and wider Finance community to effectively support our stakeholders and deliver value for money.
Responsibilities

Support the Senior Finance Leadership team by taking a lead role in this change agenda acting as the central point of contact and Co-ordinator for Finance
Aid the Senior Finance Leadership Team to ensure we robustly manage and deliver core business as usual finance products and services with a focus on value for money.
Understand core financial processes and lead the mapping and documentation of those processes, surfacing opportunities to improve.
Work with internal finance colleagues and other internal programmes with a focus on change and continuous improvement of finance policies, processes, and systems to ensure controlled operations and future sustainability.
Collaborate effectively with corporate functions and enablement teams and the new hub and spokes operating model to embed and drive forward effective and efficient delivery of Finance services.
Support the Finance function in developing future plans and play a lead role in the delivery of the first phases of the change programme.

Essential criteria:

Wide experience of working at a senior level across the finance function with recent experience in leading change in this environment.

Significant experience in driving teams to deliver successful outcomes in a dynamic finance environment, delivering change, and promoting continuous improvement.
Wide and varied experience in stakeholder relationship management particularly at senior level.
Proven record of ability to produce robust and useful financial management information.
Proven ability to translate complex, technical advice for non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in driving change and process and systems improvements in a finance context including through payroll.
A strong working knowledge of government accounting rules, Managing Public Money, VAT guidance, International Financial Reporting Standards, and business case best practice.

Essential criteria:

Membership of a recognised accounting body (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA).
