Description

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit 2 x Project Leads for initial 6 month contracts with option to extend on a rate of £237/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances these roles will be a hybrid of working at home and the office.
Responsibilities:
-Guarantee quality Programme Management Office activity in the Programme's complex delivery landscape to support delivery
-Hold a strong and effective working relationship with PMO Senior Project Leads in order that they can substitute for them as and when needed
-Lead on the development, ratification, governance, and maintenance of a wide range of project documentation including risk logs, project plans, project initiation documents, business cases and project progress reports.
-Project plan baselining and ongoing management of milestones using Microsoft Project
-Coordinating the creation of project initiation documents, business cases, and funding requests. Engaging with senior stakeholders to gather and ratify content for these documents.
-Leading on routine Change Requests, facilitating input and ensuring quality CRs across the Service area
-Providing subject matter expertise by giving strong guidance and challenge to service areas on the maintenance of Programme standards and procedures
-Playing a supporting role in developing reporting dashboards, seeking input from service teams and ensuring accurate and quality entries
-Engaging with the financial management of assigned delivery areas, ensuring monthly budget updates are reflected in Programme governance artefacts to ensure accurate in Programme finances
-Build and maintain strong, credible working relationships with Service area teams (particularly Product Owners and Leads), Programme Management Office colleagues and wider Programme stakeholders
-Hold expertise in PMO standards and in depth delivery knowledge of the relevant Service area
-Contribute to continuous improvement activity across PMO team
-Support internal communications and robust information management
-Line manage PMO support staff as required
-Be personally responsible for performance in role, taking pride in delivering a quality project management service
Essential Skills:
-Experience of working in a PMO environment in a busy, fast paced Programme. Knowledge of all aspects of PMO operations
-Ability to drive and deliver quality work in a busy and fast paced Programme environment
-Ability to build successful, professional relationships with colleagues, specialists, senior managers, and leaders that result in successful delivery
-Ability to prioritise Programme management tasks and activities, adding value at all points to meet deadlines
-Confident user of Microsoft Project, with the ability to work with key delivery stakeholders to develop Microsoft Project plans from scratch and update these in line with delivery progress
Desirable Skills:
-Task management and motivation of a team of staff in a busy business area
-Experience of working within an Agile or hybrid delivery environment
-Experience of Agile tools, including Jira, Confluence and Trello
