Location: Remote - with occasional trips to London
Salary/Rate: Up to £950 per day INSIDE IR35
Start Date: 17/04/23

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our leading financial services clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Data Mesh Specialist to join their team for a six-month contract.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

Data Mesh is a modern approach to data management architecture and organisation design which places ownership in the hands of domain experts, sharing a self-service platform. Establishing and implementing a Data Mesh strategy involves organisational change backed up by a technology strategy focused on a modern data architecture.

The Data Mesh Specialist will need to help lay the foundations for implementation by focusing on:

  • Definition of Vision, Principles, Standards & Guidelines across different strategic initiatives
  • Discovery/Impact Assessments
  • Prioritisation of High-Level Requirements
  • Driving adoption & advising/influencing/enabling change
  • Engaging with other strategic initiatives and central programme
  • Carrying out readiness assessments
  • Organisational and service design
  • Creating the rules for & assisting in the definition of business/data domains
  • Defining roadmaps and required services
  • Collaborating on the definition & implementation of the governance model and approach
  • Assisting in the definition & implementation of the Operating model
  • Service design/build; platform design/build (eg metadata management, data cataloguing)
  • Change management
  • Creating the rules for defining Data products; planning, communicating, and constantly reinforcing the Data Mesh paradigm

    • Required Skills/Experience

  • Data Mesh experience, preferably within the financial services, investment & capital markets industry
  • Full project life cycle implementation experience including familiarity of agile projects
  • Strong analytical skills with methodical and independent approach to problem solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An eagerness to learn and collaborate with others, quick learner and able to work with little supervision
  • Stakeholder Management experience and skills - the ability to converse with all levels of stakeholders to understand and extract the required business requirements
  • Collaborative approach
  • Organisation and facilitation skills
