Mechanical Design Engineer - Aberdeen. Competitive Salary PackageProgressive GE have been tasked by one of our key account to assist in the recruitment of a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis in Altens, Aberdeen.
You will be joining a small but innovative engineering team and reporting directly to the Engineering Manager
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Supervise design projects from design conception through to on site fabrication and testing
- Experience creating both 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and inventor
- Review and create calculations utilising MathCAD
- Review as well as create procedures and aftermarket manuals
- Supervise subcontractor activity on the project
- As the team grows you will be involved in the developing and mentoring more junior engineers
Skills and experience required:
- Experience in design, fabrication and manufacturing environments
- Working knowledge of steel
- Proven track records within the subsea or topside environments
- Strong experience in both 2D and 3D CAD programs
- Proven experience in FEA
- Engineering degree or extensive experience within a similar role
