Description

Job Description:
(1) Drives cross-functional teams through all stages of the sourcing process: supplier evaluation, supplier negotiation and contract implementation.
(2) Executes sourcing activities by working with stakeholders to prepare Request for Proposals (RFPs), review bids, and negotiate with suppliers for indirect spend categories as assigned.
(3) Seeks to improve capabilities of the supply base and/or key business processes - implements best practices in sourcing and contract management.
(4) Engages the client to define, analyze and prioritize requirements with a view to the longer term business strategy.
(5) Stays abreast of supply market trends, supplier economics.
(6) Plans sourcing events with business to manage contract end dates and allow for transition.
(7) Manages contract administration, coordinates with end users and suppliers, and provides oversight and coordination with the business.
(8) Provides consultation services to the business to resolve contract disputes. When acting in the contract manager role for a contract, will be accountable for all aspects of the contract management life cycle.
(9) Negotiates and executes medium dollar/complex contracts.
(10) Collaborates with Legal to review commercial terms and ensure contracts properly define requirements in Statements of Work (SOW's).
(11) Ensures development and qualification of sources to support purchases of supplies, equipment and services, conducting site visits to current and prospective suppliers as required.
(12) Identify supply and quality problems proactively and lead the development of corrective actions to the benefit of Procurement's internal partners.

SKILLS:

Experience/Skills:
(1) Requires advanced sourcing and procurement best practice process knowledge, purchasing knowledge, including expertise in the category area and full understanding of purchasing and inventory systems.
(2) Requires strong understanding of contract language terms and conditions.
(3) Solid understanding of business/financial principles.
(4) Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, and influencing skills. Effective negotiation skills.
(5) Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to present to different organizational levels.
(6) Demonstrated project management and leadership skills, including the ability to manage conflict and encourage collaboration.
(7) Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). In Addition: Minimum of eight
(8) years related experience. Demonstrated strategic sourcing/procurement experience to include: purchasing, negotiating/drafting contracts, contract management, supplier development and supplier qualification/certification.
(9) Prior experience with commodity and supplier relationship management.
Education/Degree requirements:

  • BS/BA, MBA Preferred.
  • Candidates MUST HAVE at least 5-8 years experience.
  • Candidates MUST HAVE Experience in Construction and Civil (field services) Procurement.
