Brevco Services is looking for a VOICE, ROUTING AND SWITCHING ENGINEER in SHAPE - Mons, Belgium.

Security Clearance - NATO SECRET or SC

Location: SHAPE - Mons, Belgium

Support the NSII NCI Ops Engineering team throughout the contracting period by participating in the day-to-day operations and support capability deployments from the Back Office and/or participate in short term deployments commissioning activities.

1. TASKS:

  • Direct 1st level fault resolution of Voice, Routing and Switching Elements to sectors, sites and the Service Area routing cell

  • Assist in Baselining of Voice network assets in accordance with the standard configuration set

  • Advises on fault diagnosis throughout NATO sites utilizing a number of management platforms (eg HP Network Automation, Netscout, Intermapper, Splunk)

  • Ensure that, on Voice, Routing and Switching elements, remote routine maintenance throughout pertinent NATO sites is performed

  • Coordinate with sites to implement Voice, Routing and Switching elements centralisation, standardisation and best practices

  • Liaise and collaborate internally throughout the NCI Agency Service Line infrastructures and to external organisations for fault rectification activities

  • Being responsible for the maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures within the Voice, Routing and Switching Cells

  • Configuration, and evaluation, of test scenarios within the NGCS Reference Facility, pertinent to the area of Voice, Routing and network configuration problem resolution

  • Performing operation and maintenance activities for current NATO operations (eg KFOR, OAE, and RS)

  • Ensure a common understanding of the available toolsets and method of utilization within the centralised and distributed user base

  • Investigating and proposing long term solutions to encountered equipment and configuration problems

  • Operate provided management tools and capabilities

2. REQUIREMENTS:

Essential Skills

  • Over 4 years' experience of working in a centrally managed network environment

  • Over 2 years' experience of CISCO Routing and Switching Elements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience with the configuration and operation of Network Monitoring and Event Management systems ideally Intermapper, Spectrum, HP Openview and Splunk

  • A minimum of 1 years' experience with the configuration and operation of HP Network Automation or equivalent network automation and orchestration systems

  • Minimum qualification of Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

  • Proven experience in the use of an Incident Management System such as BMC Remedy

  • A high level of knowledge of network, system and application level troubleshooting techniques

  • Knowledge of communications protocols and practical experience of using diagnostic test equipment

  • Working Knowledge of OSPF Knowledge of EIGRP and IS-IS

  • Extensive knowledge of implementing and operating LAN technologies (eg HSRP, STP, Switching, VLANs, DHCP snooping, ARP Inspection, Port-Security)

  • Extensive knowledge of operating network authentication and authorization systems and technologies (eg Secure ACS 5.x, 802.1x, 802.1ae MACSEC, RADIUS, TACACS+)

  • Knowledge and experience with commercial IPSEC encryption solutions such as Secure Virtual Tunnels (sVTI), SSLVPN, DMVPN, GETVPN

  • Proven experience in the configuration and operation of VoIP systems

  • Proven experience with CISCO based VoIP solutions (CUCM 9.1 or higher, CME, CUBE)

  • Proven experience in the configuration of Session Border Controllers

  • A high level of knowledge of network, system and application level troubleshooting techniques

  • Knowledge of communications protocols and practical experience of using diagnostic test equipment

  • Working Knowledge of SIP, H.323 signalling protocols

  • Working Knowledge of virtual environments (VMWare, ESXi, vSphere, vCenter)

  • Knowledge of implementing and operating LAN technologies (eg HSRP, STP, Switching, VLANs, DHCP snooping, ARP Inspection, Port-Security)

  • Shall have general understanding of related telecommunications systems and techniques of, Radio, SATCOM, MPLS, Video, TDM Voice

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience in implementing/commissioning network equipment and participate in projects delivering network capabilities

Desirable Skills

  • University degree in a field related to the function of the post

  • Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements

  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities, structure and organization, including ACO and ACT

  • 2 years' experience in all aspects of maintenance, repair, and operation of large complex multi-vendor IP communications networks and related equipment

  • Shall have general understanding of related telecommunications systems and techniques of TDM, ATM, Frame Relay, MPLS, Video, Voice and VOIP technology

  • Experience with IPv6 network technologies and concepts

  • Experience with Datacentre technologies and Virtualized Switching such as VMWare and Nexus1000V

  • Experience implementing and operating a multi-tenancy network environments (VRF/VLAN)

  • Experience implementing and operating multicast network technologies (IGMP, PIM)

  • Experience developing, and maintain scripts using EXPECT, Python or PERL

  • Familiarity with Thales TCE 621 family IP Cryptographic Equipment or similar Military Grade IP Encryption devices

  • Knowledge of the principles of command and control systems

  • Experience with IP Diffserv QoS in Networks

  • Understanding of Firewall Technology and Concepts

  • Understanding of Intrusion Detection System Technology

  • Familiarity with Application Performance Monitoring Solutions such as Netscout

  • Familiarity with Performance Management principles, metrics and tools (eg MRTG, IPSLA)

  • Hold one or more of the following IT security qualifications/certifications:

    • CCDP: Cisco Certified Design Professional

    • CNCA Voice

    • A+ Certification

3. EDUCATION

  • A diploma from a vocational school in a communications related subject, or an equivalent level of work experience in the field of telecommunications
