I am currently recruiting for an industry leading Automotive company based in Oxfordshire, they are looking for a Functional Safety Manager to lead a team of multi disciplinary engineers.
Responsible for functional safety of both internal R&D and customer based new product development within the company
Assisting customers with functional safety and interface specifications
Generation and development of new and existing processes
Reviews / gap analysis at customer premises on a project / company process basis
Education required from the Functional Safety Manager:
Degree in Electronic Engineering / Software Engineering / Safety and Reliability
Experience required from Functional Safety Manager:
IEC61508 - general understanding
ISO26262 - in depth knowledge and application experience
Automotive industry (although industrial or process background considered)
Leading risk assessment, FMEA and FTA reviews using appropriate tools
Project management of safety critical projects
Development of safety plans and safety cases
Skills required from the Functional Safety Manager:
Self-motivated, problem solver, good communication skills
