EDI Project Coordinator

Description:

This position supports the implementation and maintenance of EDI transactions on our internal EDI environment. Without this support we would not be able to meet the demands of our external providers, payers, employers, clearinghouses, Third Party Administrators who require that we do business with them electronically. In addition this position supports our ability to maintain HIPAA compliance for transactions and code sets.

Judgement must be exercised with problem solving trading partner issues with EDI implementations. Discretion and good communications must be exercised when dealing with regional stakeholders.

Issues with data validation must be resolved with external trading partners and regional application staff. The problems are not always clearly defined and solutions must sometimes be created rather than relying on previous documentation. In some cases agreement is needed from many stakeholders.

National EDI Business Operations facilitates the testing, implementation and operations of EDI transactions both internal and external.

Works in a diverse and more complex environment; and includes some customer and executive contact. Performs more complex administrative activities including managing projects, composing letters and reports, preparing/editing presentations.

Provides assistance, training to other administrative staff, may supervise other staff.

Includes frequent/continual contact with customers and executives.

Supports National EDI Business Operations by coordinating and implementing plans for all functional aspects of EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) for assigned business areas.

Responsible for maintaining trade partner agreements and service level agreements with all internal customers.

In conjunction with technical staff monitor EDI production activity.

Report on progress/status to the Compliance Manager, Trading Partners and operating department management regularly.

Capable of coordinating workgroups to implement and maintain EDI transactions

Daily responsibilities:

Sorting email and replying to status emails and simple questions for approximately emails daily

Motivated Self Starter

Requirements:

Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.

Has intermediate to advanced computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, and basic presentation or database applications.

Possesses strong interpersonal skills, leadership, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills.

Min 3 years experience in EDI customer service environment. (Healthcare preferred, dealing with implementation and maintenance of claims, membership and billing transactions)

MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project

Knowledge of HIPAA, Code Sets Final Rule, X12, HL7

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
