Description
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:- Develops automated scripts based on features of specific applications.
- Records user interactions to create automated scripts.
- Creates/edits automation scripts using utilizing tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Collaborates with QA analysts to identify functions and features that require test automation.
- Develops and implements best practices for test automation.
- Analyzes test results for accuracy and compliance.
- Finds root cause of problems and recognizes recurring issues; resolves, or contributes to the resolution process.
- Manages acceptance criteria utilizing tools such as TFS/Visual Studio/Spec Flow.
- Maintains documentation, user accounts and test data used by the team.
- Records and maintains source control of automation scripts.
- Coordinates efforts with software engineers to identify performance opportunities, as well as to ensure testability issues are addressed during design life cycle.
- Develops new and refines existing QA processes, tools, and testing infrastructure to enhance quality and productivity.
- Creates automated testing harness for application utilizing tools such as Rest API.
- Logs bugs/issues with appropriate detail Review bugs and set the appropriate severity level.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
- Experience with test automation using Coded UI and Selenium.
- Technical experience requires knowledge of C# coding, proficiency with databases and writing moderately complex SQL queries, and .NET technologies.
- 1-3 years of experience in software testing environment for web based applications, one of which is related to functional and performance automation tools and concepts.
- DevOps and continuous integration experience
- Proven ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with Microsoft Azure is preferred).
- Knowledge of JSON and other services concepts.
- Requires a strong individual contributor with the ability to be effective working with cross-functional teams and departments.
- Solid quality assurance and analytical skills with in-depth knowledge of web-based technologies and products; proven background with test scripts and automation tools.
- Experience in day-to-day operations of a quality assurance and test environment with the ability to explain automation concepts to cross functional teams, requiring effective communication skills.
