Description

Commissioning Engineer

Electrical commissioning engineers are required for our client who designs engines for marine applications.
The roles are based in Bristol but will require regular travel to Portsmouth, Scotland and occasionally overseas. Although initially for 6 months there is a high chance that the roles will be extended.

The role will require an adaptability to understand bespoke Real Time operating systems, already having a number of years experience working with control and instrumentation systems in a highly regulated environment, you must be able to operate touch screen displays, read block circuit diagrams and have knowledge of 17th edition wiring regulations.

Day to day tasks will include supporting and checking the installation of control cabinets, hydraulic and electrical systems, sensors and actuators, checking safety of installed systems, preparing and obtaining approval for test and commissioning procedures, checking systems operations against design specs, investigating and troubleshooting issues, representing the client in meetings with ship builders and prime contractors.

If you come from a controls and instrumentation commissioning background and have experience working in Marine, Aerospace, Oil and Gas, or ex forces I would be really keen to speak to you about this role.

The control system for these marine engines have been designed, adapted and are bespoke, but any previous experience with BAE or Rolls-Royce systems would be desirable.

You must be willing to travel and stay away for weeks at a time.
