Description
Our global medical device client is currently seeking a Controls Systems Engineer to support the Operations Process and Utilities Process, by actively troubleshooting, developing and refiningequipment and systems.
The successful candidate will support the site in maintaining a validated process. This support includes process improvement projects, problem solving, and maintenance support of key site processes.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supporting small to Medium sized site specific capital projects through conception, approval, planning, execution, and validation in all parts of the plant including Production and Packaging, Utilities, and Warehouse.
- Ensuring all engineering & automated systems operate as per validated process.
- Management of and liaising with equipment vendors, contractors, project teams, and Business Unit.
- Troubleshooting and giving continuous technical support to specific processes in conjunction with the maintenance, Business Unit, and Quality Departments
- Identify opportunities to implement a more lean process
- On-going process and equipment development in terms of Safety, Quality, and Productivity
- Qualifications/Requirements
- Engineering degree in process, mechanical, or electrical engineering or related discipline.
Experience Required
- Control systems engineering experience from development, process, maintenance, or project work in pharmaceutical or process industry within an FDA approved environment
- Siemens S7 PLC programming capability, trouble-shooting & fault finding ability desired - experience with Siemens S5, Allen Bradley or Klockner Moeller a benefit.
- Able to work with vendors to make changes to control systems in a controlled manner.
- Familiar with PI / Rockwell / Historian database technology for digitisation of data from various networked equipment / processes, to be able to identify and develop process improvements from such a system.
- Good knowledge of and experience with Process Validation, Computer Software Validation, Technical Documentation, Engineering Standards, and Guidelines.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal with a variety of people on a wide range of tasks.
- Must be good record keeper and results analyser.
- Flexible to be able to work around the operations time to implement changes and resolve issues.
