Description
We're seeking a frontend developer with strong command of HTML5, CSS3 and mobile-first web development to work closely with the design team to tackle a wide array of visually oriented projects. You will be building responsive websites, demonstrating to the world what is possible with NationBuilder and assisting our network of certified designers with theming questions. This is an excellent position for visually oriented frontend developers who love working in a creative environment where we're always trying something new. You should have experience hacking existing frameworks, and have no problem building your own.NationBuilder themes use HTML5 (extended by Liquid), CSS3 (extended by SASS and Compass) and JavaScript.
NationBuilder is building the infrastructure for a world of creators, by helping leaders to develop and organize thriving communities. Our software allows leaders to use a single product to achieve the work that would have previously required several solutions (hosted website, mass email, donations, social media tools, blast sms, people database). We put the database (people) at the center which makes it possible for our customers to understand the many ways they are connected to their community, and then to move their people to take action.
This is a full-time position in our beautiful office in Los Angeles, California.
You:
- Strong command of HTML5/CSS3/SCSS/JavaScript/AJAX and cross-browser development
- Experience building mobile first responsive websites and strong understanding of the principles behind this approach
- Extremely detail and visually oriented and precise in code, communication, and documentation
- Are a pragmatic problem solver, knowing how to find the middle ground between "perfect, but takes forever to code" and "fixes it now, but nobody will ever be able to understand what I did"
- Work well in small teams with a clear mission
- Have the insight to know what's important and the dedication to get it done
- Clear and concise communicator with excellent collaboration skills
- We use Ruby, Rails, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, HTML/CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript (jQuery, Angular, etc).
