# .NET Developer - Devon - ContractMy client is looking for an enthusiastic Developer with expert C# knowledge and proficient in all aspects of technology. This is a hands-on role for a strong developer with a good understanding of web and back end system development.

Type: 6 Month Contract
Rate: £350 Per Day
An inotive business based in rural Devon they make extensive use of modern technology and are heavily invested in the cloud. Therefore an enthusiasm for technology and a passion to learn both our business and technology will be essential. You will have the opportunity to gain new skills through on-the-job and formal training programmes.
Prior experience of the technologies we use is essential although no prior experience of the industry is required. You must demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm and a desire to learn. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the processes that drive the commodities trading industry from a position in the heart of our business.
Key responsibilities
- Produce high quality, accurate, efficient and well documented code in line with specifications
- Undertake maintenance and 'bug fix' activities for existing applications
- Undertake peer-to-peer code reviews
- Ensure clear and timely communication, ensuring your manager and relevant parties are kept informed of progress, issues and difficulties
- Proactively work to efficiently improve quality, mitigate risks and resolve problems
- Advise on best practice solutions to be used across the team
- Share subject matter expertise across the team to enhance team effectiveness and ensure quality of development activities e.g. continuous delivery and automated testing
- Be proactive in keeping aware of new technologies and tools
Essential skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science) OR Reasonable level of relevant commercial development experience with a proven track record of successful delivery
- Experience using recognised agile development methodology, e.g. SCRUM
- Experience and complete understanding of the role of the developer in the full SDLC
- Proven track record of unit/system-testing
- Proven track record of engineering best practices
- Highly proficient in the following tools and technologies
- C#
- Visual Studio
- Oracle / SQL Server
- Web Services
- Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
- Good understanding of advanced JavaScript libraries such as AngularJS and BackboneJS
- Interest in developing for mobile web and hybrid apps
This is an excellent opportunity based in Mid Devon to be drawn up for an initial 6 month contract.
