Description
Our direct Fortune 500 client in Colorado Springs needs a senior Exchange engineer to join their messaging team. The team supports a complex, multi-platform messaging and collaboration infrastructure, with over 25000 users in 450 locations.You'll need to have strong background in general Windows server administration, in addition to Exchange engineering.
Experience with version upgrades or migrations into Exchange from other platforms, especially Notes/Domino, is a big plus. Experience with Sharepoint messaging/notification is also a plus.
It's an IT-driven company, with a great work environment. An offer of conversion to permanent employee is highly likely at the end of the 6 month contract period.
Required:
Microsoft Exchange: all Exchange Server Roles
Distribution Group Management
SMTP and POP services
PowerShell Scripting
Understanding of Exchange integration with Sharepoint and Lotus Notes/IBM Notes
Experience with projects migrating technologies and hardware to new versions or point releases including
o Completing analysis of versions to determine new features, identify features carried forward from prior version, and features being deprecated.
o Work with Infrastructure Engineering and Development team to determine the configuration to be used for the enterprise as well as features to be rolled with associated migration path for those changing or being deprecated
o Implement the configuration that will be maintained by the Operations area
o Develop documentation for users to reference when migrating. Support users with their migration.
o Plan and execute decommission of older versions once rollout is complete.

As an Infrastructure Technical Specialist within IRS, a solid understanding of operational support processes and escalation processes are desired
This is not an administrator role, but experience with Sharepoint administration and/or design is a plus.
Experience with Lotus Notes/IBM Notes and/or Sharepoint is a plus
