My client, a well renowned organisation is urgently seeking a Webmaster/Systems Administrator ( HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Unix) for a contract role in West London.
- You will have proven experience supporting business-critical services in a live environment.
- The role is to provide operational support for the playout and publications of online services.
- You will also maintain continuous hotline and on-call support for services on a rota basis.
- Previous experience in an operational, support or customer-facing role.
- Previous experience of working with issue tracking software, eg Jira.
- Demonstrable detailed knowledge of HTML and cross-platform compatibility issues.
- Practical experience using JavaScript, CSS and XML/XHTML.
- Basic knowledge of UNIX command line and filesystems.
- Practical experience working with standards compliant websites.
- Previous experience of working in content management systems.
Desirable
- Extensive experience with Internet protocols, standards, technologies and applications.
- Knowledge of web server environment, preferably Apache, including HTTP and CGI.
- Practical experience with XML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Scripting experience in Perl, PHP or UNIX Shell.
- Experience with MySQL or Postgres databases.
- Working knowledge of source code control systems, such as Subversion
- Familiarity with various online communication tools such as IM, IRC, talkers, wikis.
