Description

Calibration Engineer - Gasoline or Diesel 35-45K

As a state-of-the-art engineering service provider, we offer development and application solutions for all electronic systems in the OUR portfolio. We now require Gasoline and Diesel Calibration Engineers to support our customer development programmes within our Engine Management Systems team based at our site at in Coventry.

Your responsibilities:

- Calibration of engine management systems for UK customers

- Evaluation of customer requirements, effort estimation and planning of own tasks

- Planning, executing and evaluation of measurements at test benches and in the vehicle. Optimization of the corresponding parameters (e.g. engine base calibration, vehicle calibration, on board diagnostics)

- Initial operation, calibration and verification of specific functions at the engine, vehicle dynamometers or test track

- Set up and commissioning of test equipment

- Participation at test trips (summer, winter, altitude tests, test tracks)

- Customer contact for technical questions

- Creation of technical development reports for status of the completed calibration tasks

- Presentation, discussion and approval of the results at customer

Required:

- At least 3 years experience in either gasoline or diesel EMS calibration

- Expertise in at least one calibration functional area

- Sound understanding of engine combustion processes and emissions formulation

- Knowledge and experience INCA and ETAS tools.

- Knowledge of EU and Federal emissions legislation

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Degree qualified in a relevant subject, i.e Automotive, Mechanical

- Possess a valid UK driving licence and permanent working permit valid for the UK and EU

- Readiness to travel frequently as required

Beneficial:

- Understanding of MatLab/ Simulink, Mapfit, CANALYZER, VBA, Ms Project

- German as second language
