OVERVIEW:
A Hundred years is looking for an experienced Front End developer to join a great team working on cool projects. We prefer if you are based in LA, but we're open to remote work as well, as long as there is significant time zone overlap . You will be building and launching sites for clients like TED, ONE.org, The Rockefeller Foundation, The Smithsonian, NASA, XPrize, Renaissance Learning, and UCLA Health.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A demonstrated history (minimum four years) of developing high-quality front end code with great attention to design detail
- Experience building responsive web sites and developing for mobile devices, including massaging layouts effectively when a design doesn’t exist for a particular breakpoint
- Experience developing with Sass and a modern front end build tool (grunt.js or gulp.js)
- Clean, semantic markup and well-organized CSS and JS
- The ability to review specs, wireframes, and designs and ask the right questions
- Experience with templating patterns and best practices such as partials, layout extensions, and mixins
- An understanding of accessibility considerations and WAI-ARIA
- Knowledge of polyfills and shims, and understanding the principles of progressive enhancement
- A history of shipping sites and web apps as the primary front end developer
- You like building things. You like designers. You love getting a design “just right,” but you know that doesn’t mean it looks the same on all screens. You love CSS. You’re a good teammate. You like making clients happy.
- You have a Github account and are following some interesting projects and people. Even better if you have some public projects we can look at
- A interest and ability in the ever-evolving world of Javascript frameworks: Angular.js, Backbone.js, Ember.js, React.js etc.
