Manufacturing Development Engineer opportunity within a global leader operating in new technology now available

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Development Engineer looking for that next step up within a global corporation within an exciting field of new product development.

The successful Manufacturing Development Engineer will be solely responsible for the development, characterisation, optimisation, documentation and dissemination of all prototype and production processes require to produce next generation, award winning and force sensing solutions to a variety of end markets.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Design reliability testing of materials and products to meet required industry specifications for a variety of industries including automotive, medical devices and industrial controls
  • Work with lab technicians and the production team in prototype and production phases to improve manufacturing processes to ensure products meet customer expectations
  • Improves and verifies processes from R&D stage to a level suitable for mass production
  • Transfers new processes to both internal and external production centres
  • Develops manufacturing and testing processes in UK and overseas production facilities
  • Work with various members of the Engineering and R&D teams to develop and conduct tests to ensure fit for purpose, robustness and reliability of products.
  • Implements statistical process control internally and with external manufacturing partners, to achieve and maintain international quality standards
  • Ability to design experiments to solve multi variable complex problems
  • Capability for problem solving and decision making


Candidate background:
  • Qualified to minimum of BSc level and ideally MSc level in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Production Engineering, Materials Science and Mechatronics.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in process development engineering in dynamic high technology manufacturing environments performing comparable functions.
  • Proficient in FMEA and 8D in product qualification and rapid field failure analysis
  • Good understanding of international quality standards
