Description

I am looking for an Integration Architect for a 6 month contract in the West Midlands.

You will be responsible for:

*Producing High Level designs for new systems and changes of any size and complexity
*Ensuring that all High Level and Detailed designs meet agreed Business Requirements, align with Strategy and Architecture, are cost effective, deliverable and supportable and that can be delivered to time, cost and quality
*Agreeing any divergence from the Enterprise Architecture for tactical business reasons with the relevant Enterprise Architect
*Acting as the Technical Design Authority within a project to ensure that the Detailed Design and Build & Test Processes align with the High Level Design to provide agreed quality assurance
*Leading the Solution Architecture capability within the Delivery Area by following design governance procedures and ensuring compliance that promotes high levels of quality assurance
*Supervising and review the outline solutions, high level designs and detailed designs produced by other resources, partners and third parties
*Presenting the High level design to appropriate design authorities and be able to work with those bodies to come an agreed approved design
*Assessment of failure scenarios, impact assessment and mitigation of failures either via a technology or process route
*Reviewing and approval of test plans to ensure that all failure scenarios and other NFRs specific to integration are being adequately tested

Experience Required:
*In-depth knowledge of system integration technologies and techniques, backed by technical experience
*A broad and balanced understanding of IT capabilities, methods and technologies.
*Good commercial skills.
*Experience of influencing senior stakeholders on the solutions for proposed initiatives.
*Experience of the design and development of IT solutions.
*Experience of supervising others in the design and development of IT solutions.
*Experience of working in an out-sourced environment involving multiple partners
*Ideally have worked previously as a developer or software engineer on integration projects and have some hands on experience in integration technologies
*Ideally have exposure to network and security architectures and concerns

*Should have knowledge and experience of designing large scale enterprise class integration solutions utilising most if not all of the following technologies at some point in their career with the highlighted technologies being a must

*Apache ActiveMQ
*IBM Datapower Applicanes
*JMS
*REST/JSON
*SOA and Webservices
*HTTP, HTTPS, HTML WSDL, XSD and XML
*Managed File Transfer
*Java, .Net and other development languages
*Database technologies (DB2, MSSQL, ORACLE)
*Other Open Source and commercial middleware platforms

Must be conversant with network technologies and other retail technology platforms to include:

*Firewalls
*DMZs
*Load Balancing
*Proxy Servers
*Clustering
*Cloud technology
*Security
*Networking Topologies
*Linux, Windows and Mainframe operating systems
*Retail operating platforms including IBM 4690
*Cloud based systems such as Sharepoint and ServiceNow
*WebSphere Commerce Platforms
*Web Portals
*SAP
*Must be familiar with different hosting solutions for applications in a multi-jurisdictional international environment and able to understand the implications with regards to complex integrations across such environments; to include:
*SaaS, PaaS and IaaS solutions
*Cloud base applications
*Hosting environments
