Type: Contract

Duration: 6 months

Rate: £300 per day

Shipping Manager - Contract - Buckinghamshire - £300 per day

Our Client, a large engineering organisation are looking for a Shipping Manager to be based in Buckinghamshire.

Overview:

Leading the day to day booking of all International Import and export shipping activities including Import and export clearance paperwork and IPR reconciliations, and also daily trading/completion of invoices.

Working closely with the Material Logistics Team to coordinate the daily shipping requirements across all value streams in alignment with the master schedule and revenue expectations

Managing couriers to ensure business revenue requirements are achieved.

Key Competences:

  • Performing all operations according to prescribed safety, health and environmental (SHE) principles.
  • Managing Inbound & Outbound Logistics in accordance with the Business unit inventory policy and initiatives and with SOF principles and requirements.
  • Preparing delivery documentation for products, parts, and materials for shipment and routes following customer instructions.
  • Establishing and managing relationships with freight forwarders, international shipping companies and couriers, in accordance with Client standards and where relevant, working with Commodity Sourcing Leaders for freight and shipping services under Category Management.
  • Developing & managing of internal databases to control & record shipments and certifications; ensuring authorizations for shipment and inspection clearances have been verified; matching accounting records and freight bills.
  • Dealing with Customs and Excise communications, queries, audits.
  • Complying with and deploying management practices relating to SOF, LCM, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Root Cause Problem Solving and Standard Work.
  • Knowledge of import/export compliance & controls.
  • International shipping experience in the electronics and defense sector.
  • Experience of IPR and HM Customs & Excise regulations.
  • Understanding of export license control and processes.

Candidates will be required to undergo 'Reference Only' (two years of employment references) before being able to start.
