Business Intelligence Developer - Contract - Banking (Oracle PL/SQL, Business Objects, UNIX, SAS Teradata)I am currently recruiting for a BI Developer working for a banking client on a contract basis based in Gloucester. The BI developer will have between 5-8 years' experience of Oracle PL/SQL development. The BI developer will be required to have an in depth understanding of Oracle PL/SQL as these tools will be used to host the data warehouse and data layers. As the experienced BI Developer you will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from taking business requirements from business analysts and translating them into technical requirements to System and Database Design Specification, Program Code, Test Plans and Implementation Scripts.
The BI developer will also have expert understanding of data warehousing principles and design tools, any experience of dimensional modelling (Ralph Kimball) techniques will be ideal however this is not essential. This is working on a very large scale Business intelligence project within a global banking organisation so previous experience of working on a similar scale project within a similar organisation will be highly beneficial.
This is a very exciting opportunity to join a global banking organisation; the BI developer will also have experience working in the Banking or Investment banking sector.
This is a 6 month rolling contract paying £ a day dependant on experience.
Essential Skills/Experience;
5-8 years Oracle PL/SQL development
In depth knowledge and understanding of Business Objects and Business Objects development.
SAS
Extensive knowledge of teradata
Data modelling skills and techniques
Banking or Financial Services
