MS Engineer (Multi Skilled Engineer)

Purpose of Role

A new and exciting opportunity based in Cheshire (UK) for a Multi Skilled Engineer. You will be providing engineering maintenance support for production equipment onsite. This support shall include completion of planned preventative maintenance routines, undertaking repair activities, attending to equipment breakdowns and contributing to the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. 24 Month Contract

Accountabilities:

  • Undertake planned preventive maintenance, breakdown and repair activities and inspection routines on production equipment.
  • To improve the operation of manufacturing, filling and packaging equipment through the application of problem solving and continuous improvement techniques and liaison with the original machine suppliers.
  • To help organise and participate in equipment and statutory planned shutdowns.
  • To assist in equipment installation, commissioning and qualification activities.
  • To work within various pharmaceutical and environmental conditions eg clean rooms, technical spaces, plant rooms etc.
  • To maintain equipment in accordance with the planned schedules whilst adhering to site and corporate safety and cGMP standards. All associated documentation to be completed in accordance with company standards.
  • Comply with site systems through the frequent use of and full understanding of engineering systems such as drawing management system, maintenance computer system and controlled site documentation (SOP's and RS's)
  • Supervise and direct specialist third party service providers.
  • Support other employees in their training and development.

Qualifications

  • Nationally recognised Apprenticeship, or equivalent, in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering plus an NVQ level 3 in a secondary engineering discipline or completion of a recognised Multi-skilled engineering programme

Skills & Knowledge

  • Capable of operating in a multi-skilled engineering environment with a high degree of 'troubleshooting' skills combined with the ability to make decisions and operate with minimum supervision.
  • Able to understand the fundamental operating principles of complex production machines, including mechanical and electrical components together with electronic and pneumatic control elements.
  • Good understanding of PC applications and engineering diagnostic equipment.
  • High level of health & safety awareness, including preparation of risk assessments.

Experience:

  • 3+ year's relevant industry experience.
  • Experience working with high volume, highly automated control systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience post apprenticeship in an engineering environment within the pharmaceutical or a similar industry, with an awareness of quality and HSE compliance.
  • Meets the required standard in the Co. selected aptitude tests.
