Currently recruiting on behalf of my client, a leading financial services client for a senior analyst to work within the Strategic Insight and Forecasting team within the clients wider Risk function.

Bristol / Gloucester based

£350 - £400

6 month contract Immediate start date (will consider candidate with a 4 week notice period)

The senior analyst role is to develop statistical models and undertake regular Capital and Impairment forecasting to support business planning and regulatory requirements. Covering unsecured (personal loans, credit cards and current accounts), secured and business banking portfolios the role provides a unique opportunity to engage with all aspects of the business and play a pivotal role in business planning activity.

Key Accountabilities

* Development and maintenance of statistical and econometric models and tools to support capital and impairment forecasting activity.

* Production of capital and impairment forecasts to support business planning and regulatory activities.

* Undertake variance and trend analysis to understand emerging portfolio performance patterns and provide insight into future portfolio performance.

* Delivery of reporting packs and presentations to senior stakeholders.

* Provide analysis and insight across wider portfolio management team in support of growth initiatives, business and financial planning.

* Contribute to the Risk function through embedding and sharing best practice techniques and collaborate to achieve success for the wider team.

Experience required

3+ years SAS/ SQL Programming experience

Highly numerate and a logical thinker, the ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree (2:1 Maths / Stats / Economics)

Financial services experience (Nice to have would be somebody from a retail banking background)

Understanding of Basel principles, profit and loss change, and the credit life cycle are desirable.

Strong Analytical experience Good communication skills.
