Description
Imagine Ireland requires an Access VBA specialist programmer to maintain its bespoke in-house reservations system. This is an initial full time contract for six months with a view to extending.
Personal Qualities
- The person will be self-motivated with excellent communication and organizational skills reporting to the Director, and working closely with the IT Support and Web Developer Contractors
- The position will be willing to work subject to business requirements.
- The person will have a pro-active approach to work, willing to understand the needs of the other departments and gain a working knowledge of the bespoke in-house reservation system.
- The person will be pro-active in their documentation of IT practices such as network and system documentation, software mapping, process documentation, requirements assessment of a growing company.
Skills Desirable
- The successful candidate will be familiar with SQL Server 2008 R2 or with experience of stored procedures and user defined functions. They must have a good grounding in VB.Net with the ability to support VBA on Access 2003 with a view to migrating it to a new platform. SSRS is desirable and SSIS is a bonus but not essential

Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintain and develop the current bespoke in-house reservation system
• Evaluate processes outside of the IT department that may benefit from IT input and propose / implement and/or assist with developing, designing and introducing new IT related processes of such.
• Ensuring that tasks sent to IT are completed in specified or reasonable time frames and regular weekly up-dates are communicated to the relevant managers.
