IT NETWORK & INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER (VMware, VBA, SQL, DATACENTRE TECHNOLOGIES)
The contract is with a large consultancy to be on assignment at a client site in central Brussels. The client is currently seeking an IT Network and Infrastructure Engineer to join the infrastructure team responsible for the successful management and maintenance of all infrafructure thereby ensuring all IT applications and services perform effectively.
Responsibilities:
To be responsible for the IT Operational Integrity: to manage maintenance of computing facilities including hardware and software installations and ensure they remain upgraded and patched accordingly and with minimum risk to ongoing activity (12/5);
To take overall responsibility for 3rd line application support and incident management, following up KPI/reporting and increasing customer satisfaction;
To manage the capacity and capability of all IT Infrastructure to ensure that the current and future demands are met;
To work with Software Delivery/Business Services and the business in agreeing to standard Service Level Agreements for operational IT services;
To actively contribute to Information Security: all activities are in line with prescribed Information Security best-practice and agreed processes;
To act as member of the Change Advisory Board in ensuring all changes to operational IT infrastructure are done so in-line with agreed Service Levels and with minimum risk to ongoing activities;
Skills & Experience
Very strong technology delivery competencies:
o Windows Server
o VMware virtualisation
o Hosting, DR & Datacentre technologies
o Storage Area Networking & NAS
o Microsoft server applications
o LAN Ethernet
o MS Office products including Outlook and office 365; Windows 7, 8 and 10
o Fibre channel storage networking
o Proficient in VBA and SQL codes
Knowledge of OTRS (ticketing system) is a plus (Unix environment)
Knowlegde of telephony systems (Avaya) systems is a plus
Requirements
Master degree in Computer Sciences or Engineering
5-10 years of experience in a changing environment
Knowledge of ITIL is a plus
Preferably 3-lingual, Dutch, French and English (Can be Dutch + English or French + English)
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage time, work under pressure and deliver high quality on tight deadlines
Goal-oriented and accountable
Ability to work as part of a team
