Description

Summary
  • Assist with content creation for the organization's Intranet within the scope of a strategic Intranet rebuild project due to launch
  • Once completed, the new Intranet will be the organization's main internal channel to communicate news, corporate knowledge and culture, and stimulate workforce collaboration.
Job Duties
  • Researches, writes and edits original Intranet content following web best practices for formatting and presentation including feature stories, news items, news summaries, blogs, people profiles, recognition pieces, and video min-scripts on a wide range of employee-appropriate topics that support our strategic business priorities, brand development, HR and internal technology updates.
  • Implements the first dynamic and static content at launch that will be the model for tone, quality and personality of the new Intranet design.
  • Develops an Intranet style guide and rules for posting information that apply to all instances of authorized postings.
  • Posts new and revised content on the Intranet and obtains appropriate content approvals as needed.
  • Scans Intranet daily to identify needed content refinements and works with subject matter experts in the major business areas and departments to ensure content is always the latest information.
  • Checks for and repairs broken links using standard QA testing processes.
  • Suggests and creates appealing graphic elements for posting, including photos, icons and illustrations to increase visual interest and engagement.
  • Develops and follows a content planning calendar to ensure fresh content is timely and available at the right time in the editorial pipeline for posting.
  • Contributes ideas and additional original content and provides critical support to other internal communications and distribution channels, including the weekly bulletin and management communications, as needed.
SKILLS:

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications/Public Relations, English, or related field, 5-7 years in a corporate communications environment with direct responsibility for Intranet or web content
  • Experienced writer with strong concentration in web or Intranet content development.
  • Must produce top-quality first drafts with minimal editing
  • Proven success in turning complex information into simple, direct communications
  • Experience using technical programs including basic HTML, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, InDesign and the Drupal content management systems.
  • Knowledge of human resources, business operations and health care products and services preferred.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines and minimal supervision.
  • Proactive and creative approach to developing engaging story ideas and applying new technology to improve communications.
  • Excellent judgment, dedicated team member.
  • Ability to interface effectively with management and provide guidance and counsel, as necessary.
