Our client; a cutting-edge digital agency based in the centre of Leeds, currently seeks an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to join their team on a contract basis.They have a lot of exciting projects currently ongoing, and the Ruby on Rails Developer will have the opportunity play a lead role in many of them.
Working under the CTO as part of a large team, The Ruby on Rails Developer will be coding predominantly in Ruby, most of which is on Rails - so you should know Rails pretty much inside-out, but experience with other languages and frameworks is a big plus. They're big on Test-Driven/Behaviour-Driven Development, so experience with RSpec and continuous integration is pretty important too. It's also a big help if you're experienced with Amazon Web Services and RESTful APIs.
The Ruby on Rails Developer responsibilities will include hands-on development - Back End, Front End, Server Side, client-side, testing scripts, you name it. The team will collaborate on System design and architecture; working with the ops team to figure out requirements, writing user stories and estimating time scales.
The right candidate will have:
- Ruby, Rails 3+
- HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery
- Test Driven Development with RSpec
- Agile methodologies
- HTML5, CSS3
- Git
Any experience of the following would be looked upon favourably:
state_machine, squeel, capybara, jasmine, Sinatra, Coffeescript, SCSS, RESTful APIs, RSS, Capistrano, Resque, Redis or Cloud-based hosting.
