Senior FIX Messaging & App Support - £500/day - London OMS - EMS - RTS - Fidessa - SR Labs - QUOD
Main Purpose of the role:
To provide functional and technical assistance for suite of applications spanning FIX, DMA and Algorithmic trading.
Strong order and execution management system (OMS/EMS) knowledge to support business areas within C&M (Equity, Equity Derivatives and Market-Making, FI and FX).
Ensuring the stability of systems under our control to provide quality of service to the above business areas.
Communicating with business end users as well as IT Development/infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical subject matter expertise across the product portfolio.
Communication between software developers, business units, traders and Front Office users.
Promote application stability by suggesting and implementing monitoring processes and procedures to aid early identification and resolution of problems (ITRS/Tivoli)
Cover allocation of weekend work and offer support out of hours (on-call)
Incident, request, problem and change logging, reporting and management
Status and issue reporting to Group Lead and/or Release Cluster/Project Manager
Essential Skills:
Business and product knowledge in the following areas:
o 5 years + Financial/Banking experience (Equities, Futures, Options, ETFs, Warrants, FX).
o 5 years + Functional experience of electronic markets - European, US & Asian Equities and major European & US Derivatives including MTF's.
o 5 years + FIX Experience of using, configuring, trouble-shooting FIX messages, tags and logs across multiple versions of the FIX protocol.
o Trade Order life cycle ie Booking, Capture, Pricing, Enrichment and downstream Integration
o Pre trade risk controls.
o DMA and Algorithmic flow.
A broad and in-depth knowledge of Market Data systems, interfaces and protocols:
o Real Time trading and messaging including general order routing, SOR, DMA and FIX.
o Functional and technical experience of at least two vendors OMS/EMS (eg RTS, Fidessa, SR Labs, QUOD).
o Experience in market data technologies (Wombat, RFA, MAMA, TibRV, RWF/OMM).
o Excellent understanding of market connectivity, network communication (TCP/IP and Multicast), Firewalls and their impact on latency.
o Experience with Co-Located sites and service provider connectivity (BT Radianz, TNS etc).
Technical Experience in the following area:
o UNIX and Windows OS experience including Shell Scripting.
o SQL experience including query and design including performance tuning and analysis (Sybase, MS-SQL)
Desired skills:
Experience in working on projects with development teams near shore/offshore.
