Description
Duties:- Installing, configuring, and administrating a large SQL environment spanning multiple versions. The SQL deployment includes more than 8000 databases across 500 plus Windows Servers.
- Participating in projects and proactively building relationships with Business Units to understand new requirements, facilitating design discussions, and ultimately implementing a finalized solution.
- Developing teamwork and leadership skills by working with offshore colleagues to ensure work activities transition efficiently between shifts.
- Showing independence and initiative to prioritize heavy workload, to manage the expectations of customers and to meet communicated deadlines of both projects and operational tasks.
- Understanding business and application requirements to make design decisions that are both financially sound and result in stable systems that meet operational and data security standards.
- Communicating in manner that is appropriate for the situation and possessing the business acumen necessary to communicate how technical design decisions affect users and budgets.
- Developing detailed documentation for environments where individual is primary project DBA or application Subject Matter Expert and capable of training others on particulars of those environments.
- Developing and executing test plans on emerging technology or new database functionality.
- Being a positive, helpful teammate capable of communicating across a diverse workforce to ensure work transitions effectively without interruption or incident.
- Complying with existing Ethics and Data Security policies, standards and processes to prevent data leakage or other security-related events. Rotating 24x7 on-call support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science or related IT field.
- 5-7 years experience as a MS SQL Server Database Administrator
- Must have experience with: Windows distributed enterprise environment; managing upgrading and patching SQL deployments; current trends within the SQL industry; and reading and working from technical manuals and other documentation.
- Must have strong knowledge of SQL Servers .
- Must have knowledge of IT Enterprise architecture.
