ROLE: In this 2 year temporary contract opportunity, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for the delivery of professional engineering functions to meet operating requirements and ensuring the reliability of the Seaway system.
HIGHLIGHT OF DUTIES:
- Conduct inspections, assessments, feasibility studies, and various analysis;
- Complete and/or oversee the completion of designs, specifications and drawings for all assigned work (i.e. oversee design, draft and/or inspection work, signing off documents) in accordance with Engineering principles, codes, standards and regulations;
- Responsible for the delivery of all technical engineering deliverables/tasks to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets;
- Ensure the final commissioning and startup of all new works to a fully operating state;
- Provide expert assistance in applicable area of Engineering;
- Prepare budgets and manage expenditures within approved limits;
- Participate in the medium and long term planning of infrastructure maintenance;
- Provide support to operation's safety programs and initiatives as required; and,
- Ensure application of health, safety and environmental standards meet legislated requirements and company policy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering;
- Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in electrical engineering field;
- Comprehensive technical knowledge in the electrical engineering field;
- Thorough knowledge of design standards and engineering practices;
- Thorough knowledge of preventive maintenance standards, practices and safety codes;
- General understanding of budget management and financial controls;
- Proven ability to manage and lead projects effectively, applying project management methodology;
- Familiarity with applicable standards, rules, codes and regulations with respect to performing duties;
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English;
- Proficiency in applicable engineering applications, tools and related office software;
- Ability to meet the applicable security clearance from Transport Canada;
- Valid driver's license with an insurable record.

HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours
SALARY: Class G - $47.95 to $53.64/hour
