poweredbycoffee is looking to hire a new Front-End and WordPress Developer to work in our expanding team, building internal tools and websites for clients in Guildford, Surrey.

poweredbycoffee is a tiny little WordPress Development Agency based in Guildford, Surrey but with clients and partners across the UK. We do impressive WordPress implementations in a range of different sectors, cool stuff that we often can't talk about! As we are such a small team we need motivated developers who can work with and improve on our processes internally and help build the tools we need to grow. About You
As a web developer at poweredbycoffee you will

  • Work with clients to discover their needs.
  • Produce Spec documents to guide development projects.
  • Produce HTML, CSS & JavaScript from prepared design documents.
  • Build WordPress based systems for clients to manage their sites.
  • Make edits and changes to existing sites.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • You can get around in Photoshop and Illustrator, you don't have to be a designer - just enough to know how things work.
  • You understand how important it is to have a structure and methodology (BEM) when it comes to writing CSS and especially SASS.
  • You can debug JavaScript you didn't write. You know when to use, and not use, jQuery.
  • You know why version control, package management and, deployment processes are essential and are experience in all three (Git, Composer, Capistrano)
  • You eat WordPress Themes and Plugins for lunch.
  • You know the WooCommerce API backwards and forwards.

You will get bonus points if you:

  • Experience using the Unix command line & Sysadmin roles
  • Experience with Backbone.js, Angular, Ember or other JavaScript libraries
  • Can demonstrate Open Source contributions
