Proteus Europe is searching for a Functional Designer (Finance dept) for a 12 month contract.
Our Client:-
Our client is based in the insurance industry in the centre of the stunning city of Brussels, Belgium.
Your New role:-
Financial systems are a central part of our clients' application portfolio. Managing premiums, recovery and communication with banking systems, high availability and quality are important key values. Our clients' financial system is connected to all contract and claims management systems.
Your mission as Functional Designer:
- You will analyse the business needs and create detailed and precise functional analyses.
- You will establish sustainable and easy to maintain solutions.
- You will regularly suggest improvement to development processes as well as for existing systems.
- You will have a critical view on existing solutions or those proposed by the architecture.
- You provide your help, in cooperation with the Project manager, in planning preparation and follow up.
- You prepare assume and follow-up the tests.
- You follow and coach the technical analysts and the programmers.
- You stay informed on new technologies.
Your Skills and experience:-
Essential Skills:-
- Dutch and French, one fluent and good understanding of the other one.
- Insurance or banking applications
- Relational database design techniques
- Software development management
- Significant experience as Functional Analyst, ideally in large company.
Desirable Skills:-
- Group Insurance
- Non-Life insurance
- Cobol development on Mainframe with DB2 Mainframe
- Integration of different technologies (Wintel, Cobol)
- Knowledge of ESB (Enterprise service bus) principles.
- SOA (service oriented architecture)
- Some experience in project management
- Experience and knowledge of technical analysis
- Methodology applicable for Business, Process and Functional Analysis
