Description

My public sector client are looking for an experienced economist to join their complex change programme. You will support the organisation in analysing and interpreting costs and benefits associated to the programme and producing a formal benefits/business case's.

Key accountabilities:
* Using existing data and information (mostly qualitative) and translating it into quantitative data and information that can be used to make informed business decisions
* Production of a benefits case.
* Develop methods and procedures to obtain data throughout the life of the programme
* Develop an effective approach for benefits realisation, that includes appropriate measurement
* Select appropriate sampling techniques to conduct different surveys
* Propose use of econometric modelling techniques to prepare forecasts
* Analyse data to test the effectiveness of current policies, products or services
* Evaluate trends and prepare reports for a wide range of stakeholders.

Essential Experience:
* Business/Economics Degree (with a strong background in mathematics, statistics and calculus)
* The successful candidates will need to have good awareness of the overall context and challenges and how the right kinds of economic analysis and advice can best help to shape the organisations decisions.
* The ability to build up effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels, and be able to persuade and lead others who may not be familiar with cost benefits analysis.
* Experience of delivering at pace; timely, quality outcomes, working to agreed goals and the ability to respond to challenges in responsive and constructive ways. Excellent prioritisation skills to ensure strategic outcomes are maintained and achieved.
* Ability to use a variety of modelling and analytical methods/tools to provide statistical data to quantify business benefits
* Critical-thinking skills to be able to model impact of different trends on the outcomes of the programme
* Effective communicator who can prepare and deliver presentations and reports to a wide range of stakeholders
* Ability to work with senior stakeholders and inform future strategic reviews based on statistical data findings, eg explaining the impact of variables on the anticipated business outcomes
