Proteus Europe is searching for some C++ RTOS software engineers for one of our well respected clients in the Home Counties.Our Client :-
Our client is a world leader in the technical development of security products which protect us all when we travel through the world's busiest Airports. Quite literally you will be helping to make the world a safer place.
Your New role :-
You will be designing, developing and supporting embedded software for our client's products within their software Engineering team.
Key Responsibilities for this role are as follows:-
- Work with the Systems Engineering group to refine product requirements.
- Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of the operation of software within products.
- Offer suggestions and pursue methods for improving the operation of products.
- Design and implement embedded software in accordance with good practice paying particular attention to design for test
- Plan, document and execute software testing activities
- Prepare documentation for software releases in accordance with company procedures
- Where appropriate, develop software to aid automated testing of software and hardware subsystems
- Plan and organize tasks for yourself and, when necessary, for other members of the Software Engineering group.
- Contribute to the process of selecting appropriate tools for software development
- Provide technical expertise in meetings with customers - both internal and external.
- To assist refining the procedures and processes in the Software Engineering group.
- Provide feedback of progress to project management and line management.
- Attend training and develop relevant knowledge and skills to support your role.
Your Skills and experience :-
Essential Skills :-
- Current working knowledge of embedded software development in the C++ language
- Knowledge of
- Must possess sufficient understanding of digital electronics to support software interfacing
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in an Embedded Software Engineering role
- Must be PC literate
- A good communicator who pays attention to detail
- Due to the security nature of this role we are able to offer this role to EU nationals who have been living in the UK for the last 3 years or indeed British nationals.
Desirable Skills :-
- Any experience working with Linux would be a bonus
