Description
A Renewable Energy client is looking for a Consultant to work as a GIS Engineer (Specialist) working day to day with the GIS Specialist in the clients GIS team for their offshore Wind Farm Projects. The client is looking for the GIS Engineer to start this approx. 12.5 month freelance contract from the 11th April 2016 up until approx. 30th April 2017 with the possibility of further extension. This will be for 5 days a week, working 8 hrs in average.Responsibilities:
- Secure, analyse and distribute all relevant geographical data
- Provide expert knowledge on co-ordinating systems and other geographical standards
- Implement and ensure quality and reliability in data based standards
- Ensure that documentation describing GIS standards are implemented for ITT and contracts
- Secure agreements with installation managers prior to installation
- Ensure integration with overview of DPR available in WindGIS
- Ensure O & M standards for As Built data are met
- Secure qa-process with O&M prior to construction end
- MSc or other relevant Master Degree in GIS
- Sound knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS
- Experience with WebGIS solution eg ArcGIS Server
- Experience in working with, editing and loading to multiuser databases
- Awareness of projections and transformations
- Perform GIS editing and conversions
- Create metadata to the Crown Estate's MEDIN metadata standard
- Attention to detail, proactive
- Knowledge of UK and European environmental datasets
- 1 - 2 years' experience working on an offshore wind farm project or similar
The Consultant must bring his/her own PC with MS Office 2007 software or newer and mobile telephone
Onshore and Offshore works: The Consultant shall bring his/her own PPE.
