Description
On a day-to-day basis you will:- Take the lead on product design and producing great web/marketing materials.
- Build the design team and processes from scratch.
- Work closely with the founders to develop both the brand and the company behind it.
The ideal candidate
We don't have too many preconceptions about the sort of person we want to work with, but we think you'll probably:
- Have experience of designing digital products and be willing and able to work across the breadth of web design, including UX.
- Care deeply about creating an industry defining consumer experience, and constant iteration based on customer feedback.
- Have solid hands-on experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and a good understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the modern web.
Things which would be useful, but not required:
- Willingness to help implement your designs. You'll have support from the engineering team here, but as we're small, this would help a lot.
- Experience of working in or leading a design team at an early stage company.
The team
We are an ambitious new company started by founders with experience of building successful technology companies like GoCardless and Songkick. We believe in the power of fewer, better people and are building a strong team backed by leading investors.
For now, you will work closely with Matt and Phil and be responsible for building the design team. Core to our values are ethics, transparency and focusing on the details that really matter; we're looking for someone to help us shape our beliefs into a great brand.
The package
We believe treating people well is the key to our future success. Expected compensation would be £40-60K depending on experience plus a generous option grant. We offer flexible work hours, open vacation policy and provide a budget for making sure you’ve got your perfect work set-up.
