Multi-Skilled Technician & Multi-Skilled Field Service TechnicianStart: April 2016
Locations: Middle East, South Africa, Latin America
Duration: 3 months contract and then permanent position after positive evaluation
Rotation: none, 5-6 working days per week
Rate: $2,100 - $3,200 USD per month with additional daily bonuses.
Must have: Hydraulic, Mechanical and Electrical experience of Crawler and Mobile Cranes.
Responsibilities:
- The Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the fleet of cranes and equipment in order to ensure a high standard of maintenance is achieved at all times
- The Technician operates from the local repair center/work shop, aiming to prevent and to remedy failures, according to the applicable quality-, safety-, health- and environmental regulations of the clients’, the local legislation or the manufacturers’ guidelines
Responsibilities for Field Service Technician:
- The Field Service Technician and Renovation Technician is responsible for executing the worldwide (b), regional (a) or local (c) technical services providing support for all lifting equipment. He/she will be responsible for exceptional interventions on lifting equipment during breakdowns. He/she will work independently for on-site maintenance, repair and inspection of equipment.
QEHS & Compliance:
- Responsible to work safely and according to the clients’ quality standards as stated in document SNV.D.QEHS.037.E to ensure that all work is done in a safe, efficient and qualitative way
- Pointing out risks with regards to operations, safety, the environment or health and reporting these risks to the Workshop Supervisor
- They also take or have corrective/preventive measures taken
- Proper and careful use of work equipment and materials
- Carries out the attitude of Lean and continuous improvements during his/her job
- Participating in toolboxes
- Is responsible for making sure that all executed activities and processes are in compliance with the clients’ standards, -policies and – instructions and local legislation
Maintenance and repairs:
- Performs repairs and preventive maintenance, based on instructions of Workshop Supervisor with regard to fleet equipment, material and when necessary the yard according to a checklist and /or the applicable the clients’ procedures and manufacturers’ guidelines
- Troubleshooting when detecting and repairing failures
- If required, supporting during interventions outside the workshop
Administration, Communication and Information Supply:
- Accurate record keeping and timely completion of required documentation such as maintenance reports, work record sheets and time sheets according to the clients’ procedure and instructions
- Reporting failures, errors, deviations and damages to the Workshop Supervisor

- Safety certificate
- Slinging/signaling certificate (IS-006)
- Working at height certificate
- Forklift certificate
- Cherry picker/man lift certificate (IS-005)
- Tele-handler certificate
- Overhead crane
