Role Description:
Responsible for QA activities during the delivery of new solutions and solution enhancements including: test strategy, test plan and test case preparation based on requirements, test case execution, defect documentation and management. Interacting with team members including business analysts, developers, project managers and business users. The incumbent needs to possess excellent SQL skills and experience with HP ALM. Working knowledge of capital markets investment products and processes.
SKILLS:
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A university/college degree
- 2+ years experience in Information Technology
- 4+ years experience with QA Testing
- Experience reading and understanding business and solution requirements documents as well as technical design documents
- Experience with creating QA test strategies, test plans, test cases
- Experience with executing test cases and logging defects
- Experience with test environment planning
- Experience with estimating QA effort
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and working to deadlines.
- Results oriented, team player
- Good logical, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience writing SQL Scripts and using SQL to mine data
- Experience organizing and running defect triage meetings
- Knowledge of industry standard SDLC (Waterfall and Agile) and testing methodologies
ASSETS:
- Experience with QA automation
- Experience with testing Business Intelligence solutions
- Knowledge/experience writing and reviewing programs (VB, PL/SQL, Transact SQL, C#)
- Knowledge of Financial Products (Stocks, Bonds, Private Investments, Derivatives) and process for managing the products an asset
- Knowledge/experience in working with and building applications in MS Excel (VBA, Excel functions, Using add-in) an asset
- Knowledge/experience in SOA Service Oriented Architecture testing an asset
- Knowledge/experience in using Industry leading Testing Tools (HP ALM),
- Developing/executing scripts for test automation (VBScript, JavaScript, Languages/Scripts for testing tools,) an asset
- Strong interests and background in quantitative areas an asset
