Description

I am looking for highly motivated, highly skilled and experienced individuals, who can take projects from 'blue sky' ideas, through software design, implementation, testing and deployment to the field. You must be able to work as a key part of a small team, where other members will be relying upon you to deliver high quality software in a timely manner. Good communication and team-working skills are essential.

Our key technical skill requirements are as follows:
  • 5+ years experience in developing Linux software for embedded platforms
  • Kernel and device driver level programming
  • High level application development
  • Experience of designing, implementing and testing multi-threaded, event driven software
  • Demonstrable software design skills and you should fully understand the role of good design techniques in the development cycle
  • Language skills must include C++, STL, C
  • Desirable language skills include C++11, Java, HTML5, Javascript, PHP, QT, QML, Objective C, Swift
  • Network related programming, including IP socket handling, and good working knowledge of IP network operation and protocols
  • Knowledge of AV technology and digital video, particularly broadcast MPEG Transport streams, DVB, ATSC, CI+, HDCP
  • Experience developing software for the latest generation of IP Settop type products, using ST, Broadcom or Sigma Designs chipsets and the latest software stacks.

  • A good degree (minimum 2.1) in a science, engineering or maths subject


The whole development team is based in the Newbury Offices, Berkshire, where you will be based. Some UK and overseas travel may be required from time-to-time.

37.5 hour week, but we do expect our engineers to have a fully professional working attitude and extra time may need to be put in close to delivery deadlines.

The highly competitive remuneration package includes a salary, pension, life insurance, and private health care for you and your immediate family. This position will have an initial six month probationary period. The candidate selection process is as follows:
  • Selection of suitable CVs.
  • Telephone interview.
  • Face to face interview with psychometric and written tests.
  • A half day on site technical exercise.


Two professional references will be required prior to commencement of employment.
